Here at Brighton Ford we are animal lovers! A common question we get asked is “how do I keep my pet safe while driving?” We’re here to give you the best tips regarding keeping your four legged friends safe on a car ride.

A lot of drivers assume they can bring Fido for a quick trip into town without thinking twice, but CNN News has touched on the safety of your pets by reporting a story of a 30 mph car crash harming the dog and passengers in the vehicle. With this in mind, we found two products to keep your pet safe – even on quick trips!

1. A Dog Seat Belt can keep your dog safer on the road for just $10.

2. Worried about the seats? Ford has you covered with a Ford Pet Kennel especially made for animal lovers safe for both dogs, cats and other furry friends!

An unrestrained animal can be dangerous for both the animal and human. Be sure to buckle up your fur baby and drive to Brighton Ford to show us your adorable pets! As always, feel free to call us at 1-800-NEW-FORD with any vehicle questions and we would be happy to help!

One of the most common questions our staff hears is “what is the difference between a lease and purchasing a vehicle?” According to the Consumer Reports Organization, the boom of leasing will not be ending anytime soon. When you are leasing a vehicle you are paying for the part of the vehicle you use and not the entire vehicle as a whole. For Example: If I were to purchase a vehicle the payments will be higher but at the end of the term I own my vehicle and can have it forever with no more payments. However, when you are leasing a vehicle, it is a cycle of never ending payments of paying for only the amount of the vehicle you need and provides you with enjoying the newest and high tech vehicles you can buy.

Some customers also ask which is better leasing or purchasing? Well there is no correct answer for it depends on each guest and their driving habits. If you drive 100+ miles a day a lease may not be the best choice for you because you would be paying for more miles. So the real question is what works best for you (our guests)?

Our experienced sales team at Brighton Ford is here to help  you decide what the best fit is for your lifestyle and budget. Call us at 1-800-NEW-FORD today!

Snow and ice on a Ford F-150 truck at Brighton Ford, Michigan

Baby It’s Cold Outside…

As winter begins, the roads get slick and so does your traction. Here are three ways to keep you extra safe on the roads in the winter:

  1. Checking air pressure on all tires as the temperature gets lower so does the inflation of your tires. Here is how Continental Tires recommends checking your tire pressure during the colder seasons in Michigan.
  2. Though an investment isn’t always the best with Christmas around the corner… Winter tires can provide you safer travels to friends and relatives during one of the busiest times of the year. With better traction, braking, and performance. To read more about why you should invest in winter tires click here.
  3. As a Ford owner you also have the luxury of the FordPass App to defrost your windshield and warm up the interior of your vehicle. From the comfort of your: home, work, church, hunting blind and anywhere else! FordPass makes it easier for you to be comfortable and ready to drive.

These are just a few things you can do to make this winter one of the safest yet. Happy Holidays!

In addition to contributing so this event could run, our team brought a gorgeous lifted Ford F-150 to display as well as raffled off free vehicle details!

Over the spring, Brighton Ford was able to attend two incredible events. The first was The Oxford Kids Foundation Be the Change Gala hosted by The Oxford Center. The Oxford Kids Foundation is dedicated to helping children with disabilities, chronic illness, and traumatic injuries access therapies and medical care not covered by insurance. They enable kids to receive desperately needed therapies when they can’t afford them. Brandy Webb, one of our sales consultants, went to represent Brighton Ford at their annual fundraiser event. The event was a gala and live auction that served as a fundraiser for The Oxford Kids Foundation. It included a plated dinner, entertainment, and a live auction. “So happy to have the opportunity to attend the 2023 Oxford Kids Foundation Be the Change Gala hosted at The Oxford Center. The facility is beautiful, and the design concept is awesome; I love how the inside looks like a little town and the meaning behind that.” Brandy shared. Brighton donated two free car detail certificates for the event in addition to a monetary donation!

The second event Brighton Ford proudly sponsored was Cleary University’s Sip and Savor event! The event was a fundraiser for Cleary University’s Athletic Department. Our marketing associate and Cleary University athlete, Libby Cook, and her parents, Eric and Jodi Cook, attended as guests of Brighton Ford. The event was a bourbon, beer, and wine tasting with a live auction. “I had fun with my parents at Cleary’s Sip and Savor event! As an athlete at Cleary University, it’s amazing to see the overwhelming support we receive from Brighton Ford and the community. Thank you, Brighton Ford, for allowing my parents and me to attend the event!” Libby shares.

Brighton Ford proudly sponsors several non-profit and school organizations. We feel that supporting the community is a key value that makes Brighton Ford special! We can’t wait to continue sharing the amazing events we are doing this spring and summer!

We are thrilled to share that Brighton Ford has received the President’s Award from Ford Motor Company for 2022! Less than 500 dealerships out of over 5,000 earn this award every year, and Brighton Ford is honored to be one of them. Ford Motor Company states that in order to receive this award “dealers must exceed customer expectations every day in every department. The pursuit of excellence requires passion, tenacity and hard work”.

This prestigious award recognizes the top dealerships that strive to uphold these ideals in all areas of automotive retailing. But what truly makes this rewarding is the fact that it’s awarded based on customer satisfaction! We couldn’t be more thankful for our wonderful and loyal customers for continuing to trust Brighton Ford with their car buying and service needs!

So thank you to our incredible team and customers, and we hope you stop in to enjoy our award-winning sales and service experience!

This month, Brighton Ford’s marketing team, plus sales consultants Brandy Webb and Antonio Slomba, were able to attend Black and Bling – an amazing annual event put together by the Hartland Area Chamber of Commerce celebrating women in business! The luncheon, hosted at the beautiful Crystal Gardens, is a fun way for business owners and entrepreneurs in the area to connect and network, as well as enjoy great food, exciting prizes, and an incredible keynote speaker. And of course, it gave us the chance to bring out our bling!

After a delicious lunch, we got to hear Kathy King from Kathy King Strategies talk about living life intentionally, and the impact it can have on our lives. She had such an amazing energy and truly was inspiring to listen to! We were also so thrilled to have the opportunity to be both the dessert sponsor for the event as well as a table sponsor! As a table sponsor we got to provide a fun center piece to be raffled off, with the proceeds going toward the Hartland Area Chamber of Commerce scholarship fund.

We had so much fun, and are already excited for next year!

Buying a new vehicle can be stressful and intimidating, especially if it’s your first time, so being prepared is essential. Understanding what you are looking for and asking the right questions can make your car buying experience fun and exciting. Here at Brighton Ford, we want to share five questions you can ask yourself before buying a new vehicle.

1. Is this the best time for you to purchase a new vehicle?

An excellent place to start is deciding whether this is the right time to purchase a new vehicle. Making a large purchase like buying a car is exciting but don’t get caught up in the excitement when it may not be the best time. Consider your budget, lifestyle, credit scores, and purchase pricing. Also, consider the time of year; depending on the type of vehicle, it may be better to purchase it during the summer rather than the winter.

2. Would you want a used or new vehicle?

After deciding when is the right time to purchase a vehicle, consider whether a used or new car best fits your budget. Buying new comes the peace of mind that you are the first to owe the vehicle and have a factory warranty but can be higher in price. Today you can also customize your vehicle to best fit your lifestyle. However, buying a used car with miles on it can be budget-friendly. Even with all the bells and whistles, you get the exact vehicle for a more affordable price tag. Deciding to buy used or new should best fit your budget and lifestyle.

3. What model/type of vehicle will best fit your lifestyle?

Another vital question is what type of vehicle you are looking to purchase. Consider your lifestyle whether you have a family that you need to drive around. The mileage you drive on average and the price of gas. Whether you are looking for something sporty or larger to haul things, these are essential things to consider so you can get the perfect vehicle that best fits your lifestyle. You may also want to consider if it will fit in your garage or parking space. It sounds odd to think about, but it would be pretty frustrating to buy a new vehicle and find out it doesn’t fit in your garage!

4. What do you currently like and dislike about your vehicle?

It is essential to understand what you like in a vehicle and dislike. Knowing whether or not you want all the bells and whistles or just the standard features for the car can help make your car buying experience smooth and easy. Consider both the features you need and want in the vehicle. Don’t be afraid to do a quick google search or watch a youtube video on the different features available for the type of car you want.

5. Are you the only person driving the vehicle, or will it be comfortable for everyone?

Lastly, consider whether the vehicle is for you only or if others will drive the vehicle. Having a comfortable vehicle for all drivers means a win-win for everyone. If you are 5’4”, a small vehicle may be perfect, but it might not work for your 6’1” significant other! Also, consider if your kids will drive the vehicle or not. Larger vehicles may not be the best to learn how to drive in, so maybe going with med size or smaller vehicle would be better.

Knowing what you want and need in a vehicle can make your car buying experience smooth and fun. Purchasing a new car shouldn’t be stressful but exciting. Having these five questions in your back pocket could make the experience ten times better.

We all have experienced stressful driving situations where we became aggressive or had experience with an aggressive driver around us. Road rage is an extension of aggressive driving, and everyone is susceptible to experiencing road rage. Driving in a stressful and anxious situation can cause potential bursts of road rage. Here at Brighton Ford, we want to share the five best tips to avoid road rage for you to have an enjoyable and safe driving experience.

1. Leave Early to Go to Places

We are more prone to experience stress when we are late to where we need to be. When stressed while driving can lead to aggressive driving and road rage. Allowing yourself enough time to drive to your destination means you’re less likely to be stressed or anxious while driving.

2. Get Enough Sleep

Not having a good night’s rest can contribute to irritability and anger while driving. Lack of sleep makes you more susceptible to road rage and creates a dangerous environment to drive in. Be sure to get enough sleep the night before to ensure a better driving experience for the next day.

3. Create a Relaxing and Stress-free Environment in the Car

Listening to upbeat and soothing music can help avoid aggression or triggering thoughts while driving. Creating a relaxing atmosphere will prompt driving safer and calmer.

4. Be Aware of Your Driving Habits and Triggers

Pay attention to your driving habits and triggers that make you more susceptible to road rage, whether driving conditions or issues outside the car that filter into your mood. Recognizing them can help reduce their likeliness and approach the situations more positively.

5. Remember road-sharing mentality and safe driving habits.

When stuck in traffic or driving in general, remember that everyone has to get somewhere and is waiting to get there too. Keep in mind best driving practices like maintaining your distance between you and other cars, anticipating mistakes to be made, and upholding behaviors that keep conditions safe. Remember, the cost is not worth creating dangerous driving conditions.
