Frequently Asked Questions About Buying a Ford

Is buying a car or truck online really possible? And is it secure?

Buying a vehicle online is as easy as buying a TV on eBay… and you don't have to deal with a car salesman! We show you the window sticker and MSRP, then give you our low X-plan price. If you're not satisfied, we can make another search for you. Still, the decision to buy is always up to you. And BrightonFord.com has the most sophisticated and secure system of any internet marketer. You can be confident in your information's security.

Can Brighton Ford really deliver any new or used vehicle I buy?

Yes. Whether you live in the lower peninsula, upper peninsula, Ohio or Indiana, we can deliver your vehicle to your home or office.

Can I get a Shelby GT500 Mustang from Brighton Ford?

Yes. The Shelby GT500 Mustangs are exciting, high-performance vehicles that bridge the gap between the racetrack and the road. We often have a number of these Mustangs in stock, and you're welcome to contact us with your needs. But don't waste time… they're "going fast."

How can I test-drive my vehicle before I buy it online?

You really can't. But Brighton Ford makes this commitment: We welcome you to drive the vehicle upon delivery. If you aren't pleased, you don't have to take it. We'll cancel the deal right then and there, and you owe nothing.

I know my vehicle is worth more than what you appraised it for. What gives?

It probably is worth more. But not to a car dealer. Remember that he has to take your car in trade, clean it up, put it on his lot, and then hope to make a profit on its sale. Or, he can send it to a dealer auction where another dealer might want it. Either way, he will have more money invested in it than he is offering you. And if he doesn't make at least a modest profit on his sales, he can't stay in business. Bottom line: It's almost always better to sell your vehicle yourself and apply the money to your new Ford.

Why do you have to search for rebates and incentives?

Because these special promotional offers change constantly. Some are available for only a certain length of time. In other cases, the terms and conditions change. It's an issue that's in a constant state of flux. So… we want to check them all for you, as they stand that day. And that takes a minute. Tomorrow things might be different.

Why can't my vehicle be delivered at the Ford dealer in town?

It can! Dealers across Michigan can cooperate with Brighton Ford to make delivery of your new Ford convenient and rewarding. Or, we can arrange for home delivery.

How long does it take to get my new Ford from Brighton Ford?

You can be driving your new Ford on the same day you buy it. Credit approval can take up to 24 hours. But if there is any lag between purchase and delivery, it's usually not more than a few days, depending on distances.

Why does Brighton Ford use Ford Credit for all financing, first and foremost?

Because we believe in doing business within our "company" if we possibly can. That's only fair to Ford and the industry that's helped us succeed. In addition, we believe Ford Credit offers most of our customers the best rates and terms they're likely to find. But we do have other lenders available. All you have to do is ask.

Is there a way that I can know "how much Ford" I can afford to buy ahead of time?

Yes. It's a process called "pre-qualifying" for financing. It's just like pre-qualifying for a home loan. You apply for the general loan and the lender (like Ford Credit) tells you how much they're willing to loan you on a new Ford car or truck. This gives you real confidence when you shop BrightonFord.com… and speeds delivery, too.

When I click "live chat" during the Brighton Ford purchase process, do I actually connect with a real human?

Yes. At Brighton Ford we're as human as you are. And when you click "chat" you get a living, breathing Customer Service Representative… and their job is to help you in any way they can.

There's a lot of personal information involved in buying a Ford on-line. How can I be sure it remains confidential?

First, you have our word of honor that EVERYTHING you communicate to Brighton Ford is strictly confidential. We will disclose nothing to anyone, unless required to by law. What's more, ALL communication and transfer of personal information between you and Brighton Ford takes place over our special, high-security encrypted channel. It's virtually as safe as the protected channels used by the U. S. military.

Will I get a flood of "spam" e-mail after I buy a Ford online?

No. At least not as a result of any e-mail address or other information that you've entrusted to us. Again, we DO NOT give, sell or market your personal information to anyone. Period.

What is "credit life"?

This is insurance that pays off your vehicle loan in the event of your death.

What is "disability insurance"?

This is insurance that will make your car payments in the event that you become sick or injured and cannot work.

What is "gap insurance"?

This is insurance that pays the negative difference ("gap") between what you owe on a vehicle and what your insurance company will pay you if that vehicle becomes a total loss due to an accident or other mishap.

What is "inception"?

These are the lease fees due at the time of delivery… like your first payment, security deposit, etc.

What is "negative equity"?

This is a situation where you owe more on a vehicle than it is currently worth.

What is "residual value"?

This is the value of a vehicle at the end of a lease contract.

If I buy a Ford through Brighton Ford, where do I take it for service?

Any Ford dealer in the U. S. or Canada will happily service your Ford vehicle… and honor your Ford factory warranty along with any Ford ESP Extended Service Plans. There should be no service problems at all.

If it's convenient, we suggest that you take your new vehicle back to your delivering dealer for any service or repair.

All new 2007 Ford vehicles now come with new, longer 5-year/60,000 mile powertrain limited warranty. This warranty offers coverage for the engine, transmission and more. There are no deductibles for repairs, and it's fully transferable to future owners at no cost. You will also receive complimentary roadside assistance for the entire warranty period, including towing, fuel-fill and lock-out services.

What if I have a problem with Brighton Ford? Where do I turn?

We hope you'll never be in this position. But if you are, please e-mail owner@Brighton Ford.com or phone 1-800-836-8206. We'll do our level best to resolve the issue.
